Riva Ridge and Ron Turcotte win the 1972 Belmont Stakes Horse Racing Photograph

Riva Ridge, under Ron Turcotte, draws away to a seven-length win in the mile and a half Belmont Stakes, defeating his archival Key To The Mint. The Meadow Stable colt also scored an easy win in the Kentucky Derby, but couldn’t handle the slop in the Preakness, finishing fourth.
