All-Weather racing has not stood still in the past five years, however. Since the publication of the original book, two of the three tracks have changed their surfaces to Polytrack, firstly Lingfield in 2001 and then Wolverhampton in 2004. Although the approach to winner-finding on sand remains basically the same, it is now necessary to bring everything up to date and tackle the idiosyncrasies of the new surfaces as well as modify the jockey, trainer and draw statistics.
