The official historian of the race, Michael Church has enlarged, updated and rewritten his previously acclaimed history. Available only as a numbered edition of 1,140 books - each copy dedicated to a specific Derby winner, numbered and signed by the author.
Contents include:
* A full introduction to the origin and development of the race, its background and its impact on communications, transport, betting, art and film, featuring additional material on the milestone events.
* A double-page spread on each year, with a comprehensive essay, on the winner and the connections; the full classified result; the pedigree and race-record of the winner, his sire and dam and their notable progeny, interspersed with over 300 illustrations.
* Comprehensive appendixes devoted to records, analyses, tables and indices.

Presented in a strong luxury binding, gold-blocked cover, all edges gilt, two-colour head and tail-bands, and ribbon marker. There will be five copies dedicated to each of the 228 Derby winner(includes both winners of the dead-heat in 1884).
